The Art Of Eating

I am lucky to love to cook and elaborate ingredients,  I can easily spend all day in the kitchen cooking and serving others. Although, I’ve been cooking for over a decade it wasnt until a few years back, after I completed my formal culinary training, that I realized cooking was one of my gifts. 

When Im in the kitchen mixing ingredients and creating new recipes to accommodate everyones nutritional needs is an incredible feeling. Cooking brings people together, and that is one of my favorite things to do.

To me there is nothing better than to break bread with others, good food, drinks, company and easy conversations.   Sitting down and taking time to eat is part of what I like to call the art of eating.

Eating is much more than just simply satisfying the cravings of our mind… Eating is nourishment, comfort, fuel, and life.  It is true that we are what we eat and we also are HOW we eat.

I like to stress the importance of taking time to eat in a serene environment and taking the food as if it was medicine.  Cooking at home is as important as any other activity that you deem necessary in life. this is why Im committed to show people that there is a simple, fast and nutritious way to eat.

With a few fresh ingredients we can make a nutritious meal, which is why is important to keep real ingredients in our pantry and refrigerator.  Avoid buying food filled with preservatives thinking that they are easier to make than the real thing Because we can just heat it up and voila is ready.  The truth is it takes only a few minutes longer to create real food.

Also when shopping check labels for salt and sugar contents and keep both of these numbers in the lower side. Because whats the purpose to buy fast cheap food that is going to harm us at the end? Why not shop smarter and buy products that are going to facilitate our body with the right combination of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and amino acids to fuel all over bodily functions.

The tv ads have us believing that making food at home is a big deal and that it is much better to eat out or order in, and while I have nothing against going out to dinner nor ordering in, cooking at home has many advantages, for instance, we get to pick the ingredients that we are eating, the quality, are they organic? are they non GMO? Are we supporting local businesses or big conglomerates?  As both consumer and producers we have a responsibility to make sure our hard earned moneys ends up in the correct hands.
