Louis Vuitton partners with UNICEF for #MAKEAPROMISE

LOUIS VUITTON and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the leading humanitarian and development organization, have signed a global partnership ,Through this partnership, funds raised by Louis Vuitton will support UNICEF’s efforts to help reach out to children at risk and especially to provide essential interventions required to help protect and save children’s lives, everywhere. Louis Vuitton is building a community of supporters and actively raising funds with employees throughout the year for children caught up in humanitarian crises.

Make A Promise campaign

Throughout 2016, a specially designed, Silver ‘Lockit’ pendant and bracelet (RRP $500) will be available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and online. For each item sold, $200 will be donated to UNICEF’s work.
The Silver Lockit is inspired by the unpickable tumbler lock, invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings that travelled in Louis Vuitton trunks.

The Silver Lockit is also a token of our promise to help children in urgent need. Our 20,000 staff members have joined forces to generate strong ideas to raise funds and awareness for these children. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible, ask them to share our promise and to make a real difference.” Michael Burke, Chairman & CEO, Louis Vuitton.

The campaign went live last month in Los Angeles at the sixth UNICEF Ball. Numerous Louis Vuitton friends were on hand to support the initiative. They joined Nicolas Ghesquière and Léa Seydoux, the Maison’s new muse, who interlocked their pinkies to make a promise.
