The Future Of Fashion Is Now

A reflection of time, fashion no longer merely evolves around ideas and
creativity but also how far we have technologically advanced. These past
decades have seen a plethora of innovations, and in turn these influence how
we dress and present ourselves. Opening today at Museum Boijmans Van
Beuningen in Rotterdam is an exhibition dedicated to the visions of no less
than 50 forward fashion designers from around the world. All part of the latest
generation in their field, these creative are actively in search of ways to
redefine the concept of fashion by taking a critical look at the current fashion
system and the role of apparel in today’s society. Included in the elaborate
presentation are designs which have been especially commissioned for this
showcase and a series of compelling videos and installations are presented.
Participating designers include Hussein Chalayan, Olek, Viktor& Rolf,
Comme des Garçons and Iris van Herpen (on through January 18, 2015).
