A major manufacturer of paints and coatings, Dutch multinational AkzoNobel has just revealed its latest study on colour trends. Titled ColourFutures, it has once again been a thorough exploration which saw the participation of a large number of leading creative professionals from across the globe. They have unanimously indicated copper orange as next year’s main trend colour. As a global player, AkzoNobel states its essential to partake in trend forecasting. Not only from a business perspective, but also to contribute to social, economic and design developments which can all have a positive impact for consumers. The ColourFutures study concluded a radical change from last year’s values, emphasizing the extraordinary that’s hidden in ordinary things, hence opting for the Everyday+ slogan. In other words: the re-evaluation of who we are and what we already have. It’s all about creating an environment based on mutual care, a better understanding, and last but certainly not least, sustainability. The complexity of our modern world can easily be simplified when looking at it from a better understanding of ourselves, and secondly, from shared values and responsibilities. AkzoNobel’s ColourFutures study has resulted in an extensive range of colours, all very compatible to the winning copper orange hue.
