Chanel Opens Up Shop in Antwerp

It was to happen sooner or later, but Chanel’s arrival in Antwerp was greeted with great enthusiasm all the same. The French luxury expanded its footprint in Belgium with a second store in a historic building on Schuttershofstraat, already the exclusive address of many peers in the luxury fashion segment. The boutique occupies a sizeable 100 sqm. (approx. 1,076 sq.ft.) ground floor space and features a lavish interior by renowned interior architect Peter Marino. Inspired by Coco Chanel’s apartment on rue Cambon in Paris, the retail setting features a luxurious palette of white, beige and gold accents, paired with rich materials such as marble, bronze and tweed. The new Chanel boutique is divided into four sections, dedicated to shoes and accessories, bags and seasonal must-haves, small leather goods, costume jewellery, shawls and sunglasses. The back section is home to Chanel’s ready-to-wear collection, a seating area and two spacious fitting rooms.
