Once an obscure South American capital, Bogotá has become a city to watch. The Colombian capital always had a zest for life and a party scene to match, but the country’s positive economic outlook and political stability have taken lifestyle to a whole new level. The city’s affluent Zona Rosa area is where the good life is most evident with tempting new shops, bars and restaurants opening up each week. Home to savvy and well-traveled residents, these establishments pull out all the stops to create a buzz and a loyal following. One of the latest arrivals in the nightlife scene is the El Fabuloso Bar in Bogota. Located on the seventh floor of a building on bustling Calle 85, it’s a bar that innovatively pairs a modest menu with a stunning design setting. The design concept is inspired by an outdoor picnic up on the roof, and as you can see the design takes ample cues from a picnic basket. The interior has been entirely crafted from wood which adds a peculiar and rustic edge. Various seating areas, for dining and lounging, are alternated by a spacious bar section and outdoor terraces with great views of the city. El Fabuloso’s menu mainly lists beer and pizzas, but there are other delicacies and beverages to be found as well. This may be a beer and pizza place, but it’s in Zona Rosa, so dress to impress!
